Kareena comes down to earth

Kareena Kapoor is down with indigestion folks! No it is not a stomach upset, but because she had to eat back all that she said about her film career in the past.

Not very long ago, Kareena was riding a crest. J P Dutta had launched her in a meaty role opposite none other than Abhishekh Bachchan. Even after Refugee flopped, Kareena stood firm. Her performance was appreciated. She was even judged a better performer than the Big B's son.

Top of the line production houses were approaching the younger Kapoor for their ambitious projects. In a span of two weeks Kareena appeared for screen tests for three films and signed two. She failed in Devdaas but wrapped up with Santosh Sivan's Ashoka opposite Shah Rukh and Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam opposite Hrithik Roshan.

That was the time when Kareena had her nose coiled to king of slapsticks, David Dhawan. She screamed from rooftops that under no circumstance would she work with producers of David's variety. That she would do only meaningful roles.

Strange it may sound though. Kareena is doing exactly that. She has signed a David Dhawan film for which she says there's a reason. The reason we found out is Shah Rukh Khan.

According to Kareena, she signed on the dotted line of David's project because it had SRK in the male lead. Now, when did David Dhawan work with lesser mortals as heroes? His range has always had Govindas, Salmans, even Big Bs. Wasn't Kareena aware of that? Or is it that she is waking up to realities a bit late?
